BRC-A Queensland Launch

NEWS | 11 Feb 2020

On Monday 25th November 2019 the Business Renewables Centre Australia launched in Queensland, with special thanks to Trade and Investment Queensland for their recently announced funding allocated to the BRC-A.

The BRC-A would like to extend gratitude to the Suncorp team for hosting us and delivering impassioned keynote speeches on their climate leadership in financial services, the imperative of climate action and its opportunities for financial and social value creation.

Corporate Renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) have emerged as standard procedure in the large-scale renewable energy industry, facilitating investor certainty in new projects, and are increasingly sought-after by businesses looking to achieve sustainability targets and hedge against wholesale electricity price volatility.

The BRC-A is a not-for-profit initiative that exists to accelerate large-scale offsite renewable energy procurement through PPAs by delivering demand-side education and training and enabling networking between industry stakeholders.

Additional funding support from TIQ means that the BRC-A can offer an annual Buyers Bootcamp (one-and-a-half days of intensive scenario-based learning aimed at introducing corporate energy buyers to the PPA procurement process) in Brisbane in addition to more frequent participation in industry events and energy buyer conferences.

Thanks to all our experienced corporate buyer and professional service providers that presented, and all members and newcomers that attended for their enthusiasm and support!
